How would you describe your style?
Light, romantic and timeless.
Where are you based?
We are based in Temecula, CA and shoot throughout Southern California. We are available for travel worldwide and love making friends in new places!
What does Selcouth mean?
Pronounced sel-ˌküth, it means strange, unusual, rare; unfamiliar; marvellous, wondrous.
I love your work, now what?
We’re off to a great start! We love to meet with couples to hear more about their wedding day vision, share more about our approach to your day and if tacos will be involved (just kidding, let’s be real Ted will eat anything).
How do I secure my date with you?
Now that we’ve met and fell in love with each other there’s only one thing left to do and that’s make it official! In order to secure us for your wedding date we require a 30% non-refundable retainer, signed contract and happy dance.
How far in advance should I book?
There’s no definite answer to this question, typically couples book an average of 8-12 months from their wedding date. We’ve had couples book 2 months out and 2 years out so it’s really up to you and how we fit into your planning process.
How many images do I receive?
There’s not an exact science or formula we use because each client is different and each wedding is different. One wedding might have a wedding party of 22 while another might be eloping. We firmly believe in quality over quantity.
What is your average turnaround to receive my images?
Our average turnaround for portrait sessions is 2-3 weeks. Our average turnaround for weddings is 6-8 weeks.
How many weddings do you shoot a year?
20-25 is our happy place. We want to make sure we’re able to give each couple a tailored experience from start to finish.
Are you licensed and insured?
Duh, we legit. But seriously, yes we are licensed and insured and are happy to provide any additional information needed i.e. coordinator, venue, etc.
What equipment do you use?
For digital, we use Canon and pair them with Sigma lenses. For film, we use Pentax on Fuji film.
Why do you shoot film?
We love the timeless feel that film evokes so beautifully. In a world when instant gratification is everything, as artists even we can get caught up in a moment shooting digital and finding ourselves snapping away. Shooting film has brought us back to basics of photography while slowing our approach down and allowing us to document these moments in a truly authentic way.
